A Wonderful Month

We have had a really great/busy month since I last posted!  Alydia has been crawling all over the place, and getting into anything she can reach.  And she just broke her first tooth the day before Easter!  Its so fun to see her growing up so much!  She can now clap her hands, reach both arms high in the air when someone says, "How big is Lydi?  SOOO big!", indicate what she wants by gesturing, pull herself up to everything and walk along the furniture, brush her teeth and make a humming sound (like our sonicare's do), and smile for the camera.  She also makes this continuous "ah ah ah ah ah" sound that always makes us smile. We get stopped all the time with people asking us how old she is.  When we tell them 10 months they almost always say, "Really?  Wow! She's the same size as my [family member/friend] and they are 14/15/16 months old."  So we definitely know that she is big for her age.  But she is such a cutie and we love her to pieces!

We had lots of fun celebrating St. Patricks Day by wearing green (of course), eating green eggs and bacon, and talking about crazy things I did as a kid on St Patricks day.  I dyed my hair green a time or two with green Kool Aid and walked around all day with sticky hair.  Brody seemed to think I was crazy since he couldn't remember any past St. Patricks Day's.  That night we had a fun time going out to dinner and a movie with our new friends Michelle and Brad Newbold from our ward here in Bountiful.  My sister Brooklin and her husband Kade also joined us for the movie.  After, Brad taught us all about how to use our new DSLR Canon Rebel camera that we bought.  So hopefully we will get some good pictures with it now!

The Tuesday before conference we were able to go out to eat with Brody's mission president, President Tarati and his wife, and some of his mission friends.  Its always so fun to see them, and it made us even more excited to go to Tahiti this summer! Conference weekend we had a fun time with some of our old friends from Provo, the Richards.  We drove down to their place in Orem and hung out after conference at the park and then at their place while the men went to the priesthood session.  Then they gave us free tickets to go see The Hunger Games movie!  Thanks Richards!  It was so fun, and I loved the movie!  If you haven't read the books or seen the movie I would highly recommend them (especially the books).

Then the next week, Brody's family from Indiana and Colorado came to visit during their spring break.  We love seeing the Kinards and the Andersons because we don't get to see them nearly enough!  We didn't get to do everything with them since Brody was working, but we went and hung out with them every night and played games, ate Chinese food and pizza, did an Easter egg hunt and talked a lot.  Its always fun to get together with his other aunt and uncle Missy and Jeff too because they have a little girl the same age as Lydi, and they love playing together.

That same week (last week) I also was able to go up to BYU Idaho, where I went to school, with my mom and little sister Kara to show her around a little and help her find housing for when she goes there in the fall.  It was so fun to go back and relive so many good memories and also to see how much the campus has changed.  They have a new I-Center up there that is almost the size of the Conference Center (it holds 15,000 people in comparison to the Conference Center's 21,000).  Then, the next day I went to Park City all day with Brody's side of the family and we enjoyed it way too much!  Buying for a baby girl in Park City is all too fun.  So we had a blast jumping from store to store buying fun summer clothes.  I even got a swimming suit for Tahiti!  Yay!

Then the next day, which was this past Friday we drove down to St. George that night for an open house for Brody's grandma's 80th birthday!  There was lots of preparation to help with, and everyone pitched in so things went great.  We only stayed Saturday and then headed back that night to be back to teach our Sunday school kids and to have Easter at home.  Easter was full of Alydia playing with plastic eggs, dinner with my family, walks outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.  We also had a fabulous sacrament meeting that set the tone for the whole day.  How grateful I am for my Savior and the Atonement cannot be expressed on paper.  I feel so immensely blessed as I have reflected on my life and especially on this past month that has been filled with so much happiness!  What a wonderful time it is in our life!

Although it was really busy, we have loved every minute that we've had running around and enjoying our family and friends.  And now, we are planning to head to Logan this weekend to enjoy more time with one of my best friends from college Shey (which is where Lydi's middle name came from)!  She and her husband and cute new baby Brigham just moved into a new house there and we can't wait to see them!
